GILAS by MUSTHAV: safe glasses, zero plastic

The problem
Used for a minute. Littered for centuries.
Single-use plastic tumblers are handed out at every water point, canteen and celebration, and most end up in bins, drains and landfill.
Two bad choices at every water point.
Where many people drink from one water source, there are usually only two options. Both fail the people who are most at risk.

Water dispenser and glass cleaner, in one.
GILAS turns any water point into a closed loop. Press a button for drinking water in a sanitised steel glass, drink, and put it back. GILAS then cleans and disinfects that glass for the next person in about 60 seconds, with no staff needed.
Contact-free water
One press fills a freshly disinfected steel glass. No shared tap handles, no shared tumbler.
Disinfected every time
Pending validationThree-stage cleaning finishes with UV-C disinfection, designed to cut pathogens by 99.9% before the next person drinks.
Plastic tumblers, gone
Pending validationOne durable steel glass replaces thousands of single-use plastic tumblers a year.
Works where hygiene is hardest
Pending validationThe portable variant needs no water line, drain or trained staff. It runs from a wall socket in a classroom corridor, a ward or a wedding tent.
How it works
Dispense. Return. Clean.
One closed loop: every glass is cleaned and disinfected before anyone drinks from it again. Cycle timing is a design target pending validation.
- 1
Stage 1: Dispense
Contact-freePress a button and a sanitised steel glass fills with drinking water.
No one touches a tap or a shared glass. Each person gets a glass that has just been cleaned and disinfected. - 2
Stage 2: Drink & return
Any timeDrink, then place the glass back into GILAS.
Returning the glass is the only thing people need to do. A sensor detects it and starts the cleaning cycle. - 3
Stage 3: Clean & disinfect
~60sSpray wash, ultrasonic cleaning and UV-C disinfection, then it’s ready again.
A biodegradable spray, 40 kHz ultrasound and 254 nm UV-C light run automatically before the glass is reused by the next person.
Measurable impact
Less plastic. Safer sips. Measured.
- plastic tumblers replaced per unit, per year
- 50,000+
- Pending validation
Assumes about 200 glasses a day; full assumptions to be published.
- pathogen reduction per glass, by design
- 99.9%
- Pending validation
- less water per glass than a commercial dishwasher
- 80%
- Pending validation
Figures marked “pending validation” are targets, not established results. Test method, baseline and assumptions will be published before launch.
What people say
Trusted where it matters most.
